QUATREFOLIC® FOLIC ACID

What is Foli-Fort and what is it used for? Foli-Fort is the innovative dietary supplement formulated by the TN Pharma Research & Development Team with patented Quatrefolic® Folic Acid to bring a profound state of well-being to the body.

Folic acid and folates are B vitamins (also known as vitamin B9).

Although frequently used as synonyms, the two terms should be distinguished:

the term Folate refers to the vitamin in its natural form found in foods; Folic Acid identifies the synthetic molecule found in vitamin supplements and added in so-called fortified foods. Folic acid properties It is found in green leafy vegetables such as lettuce, spinach, and chard, as well as in grains and fish.

A deficiency of this vitamin can cause stress, irritability, and a lack of memory. Although it is so important for the well-being of the body, in a balanced diet, daily intake is estimated to be around 200 micrograms, but at certain times we need it more.

For example, during pregnancy to reach the safe parameters for reducing the occurrence of certain fetal diseases by up to 20% there is a need for adequate folic acid intake, which is exactly double the estimated intake in a balanced diet.

It should ideally be taken from one month before conception until at least the 16th week of pregnancy. In fact, folic acid intake reduces the occurrence of some fetal diseases by 20 percent. Through diet usually the correct intake is not achieved.

Folic acid is a yellow, poorly water-soluble substance found in liver, yeast and the green parts of vegetables. Since humans are unable to produce folates, it is essential to take them from the diet, making them essential nutrients.

Folic acid, in the form in which it is taken, is inactive and undergoes a series of structural changes within the liver that transform it into the active form that is 5-methyl tetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF).

In this form folate is necessary for the life and survival of the human organism because of its key role in the production of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) and the metabolism of certain amino acids, both of which are necessary for cell replication.

Together with vitamin B12, it is necessary for the production of hemoglobin, thus performing an antianemic function.

It is very important for growth, reproduction and proper functioning of the nervous system.
